In the conventional supervised NMF, mutual relationship between given
basis vectors is not considered appropriately, which may cause degradation of the factorization performance, especially in case that the basis vectors are similar. In order to resolve this problem, we construct a novel supervised NMF algorithm in which we adopt the oblique projection onto the one dimensional linear subspace corresponding to a certain basis vector along with the complementary subspace spanned by other basis vectors to obtain the activation matrix. We also confirm the factorization performance of the proposed method by numerical experiments for monaural sound source separation problems. |
