Compute-and-forward relaying is a relaying scheme to improve bandwidth efficiency of wireless two-way relay channels.
Recently, Sula et al. proposed belief propagation (BP) decoding for appropriately modified LDPC codes for compute-and-forward relaying and exhibited its decoding performance by numerical simulations.
In this report, we analyze asymptotic performance of the LDPC codes over two-way relay channels by density evolution (DE).
Due to the asymmetric nature of channels, the BP threshold is evaluated using population dynamics DE based on DE evolution formulas for asymmetric channels.
It is revealed that the BP threshold obtained by DE is closer to the Shannon limit than that by numerical simulations for finite code length.
In addition, we study the BP threshold as a function of transmit power difference between two terminals.
Results show that, with code rate fixed, the BP threshold monotonously decreases as the transmit power difference increases. |
