Currently KIOST is generating sea surface temperature (KSST) products at 1 km spatial resolution through blending data from four infrared satellites, two microwave radiometers and in-situ SST. For more understanding of the nature of SST in the coastal region of South Korea we have used high spatial resolution (100m) Landsat-8-based SST for the Gyeonggi Bay region from August 2013 to August 2017. The variability in SST among KSST, Landsat-8, and Socheongcho Ocean Research Station?s buoy, infrared sensor and CTD were examined. Landsat-8 showed around 0.5? higher SSTs than buoy SST, and 0.4? lower to 0.6? higher SSTs than KSST. |
