Compact Multi Beam Forming Network with Three Way Power Divider

(in English) Demands on high throughput communication for airplanes and ships by high throughput satellite using Ka-band have been increased. In Ka-band satellite communication, a multi-feeds per beam system consists of reflector and multiple primary feeds is widely used. In this system, a beam forming network (BFN) is required to share elements between adjacent beams. In this paper, we propose a compact BFN with a noble three way power divider, which the divider consists of a blanch-line and a rate-race coupler. We fabricated a flangeless 20GHz-band 16-beam beam forming network. As a result, it is conformed that the fabricated BFN is realized at 0.57 times the other companies.
