The elementary cellular automata(ECA) is
a digital dynamical system in which time, space and states are all discrete.
Depending on a rule, the ECA can exhibit a variety of spatiotemporal patterns.
In this paper, we present time-variant cellular automata(TCA)
where two rules alternate as time goes.
In order to visualize the dynamics,we introduce digital return map
defined own a set of points.
In order to evaluate stability of desired
periodic spatiotemporal patterns,
we introduce a simple feature quantities.
Using a typical spatiotemporal pattern from a switching power converter,
stability of the TCA is investigated in
comparison with the ECA. |
