In this report, the characteristics of an AC/coaxial adapter for the calibration of an artificial mains network (AMN) above 30 MHz are evaluated by using its equivalent circuit. The adapter severely affects the AMN calibration with increasing frequency. It is also found that the correction method to eliminate the adapter characteristics considering the mutual coupling between the neutral and phase lines of the AC plug in the adapter is needed to obtain the true AMN characteristics above 300 MHz. Moreover, the validity of the proposed equivalent circuit is indicated by comparison with the measured transmission characteristics of the two adapters connected back to back. |
