A Transformation Method of XQuery Expressions for Evaluation on Compressed XML Documents
Jukiya Ogura, Yasunori Ishihara, Toru Fujiwara (Osaka Univ.) SS2017-23 DC2017-22
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) While XML documents can easily express data structure, there is a disadvantage that the document size becomes large. For this reason, methods of compressing an XML document while allowing query on the document structure have been studied. In existing researches, however, abstract tree transducers are used for querying compressed documents. In this manuscript, we aim at developing a method of directly evaluating
XQuery expressions, which is a sufficiently practical XML query language, on compressed XML documents. We report on the memory usage when XQuery expressions are evaluated by our method.
