We propose a scheme for measuring complex amplitudes of optical signal patterns in the frequency domain. In the coherent detection, the divided spectral components with the different frequencies are sequentially measured by adjusting the frequency of local oscillator. After that, the measured band-divided components are synthesized in the digital domain. Since the signal spectrum is divided into the multiple band-divided components with narrower bandwidth than the signal bandwidth, it is possible to use low-speed photodiode and analog-to-digital converter. By Fourier transformation of the synthesized spectrum, the temporal waveform and constellation can be regenerated. In order to synchronize band-divided components, it is required to compensate for fluctuation of phase, delay, and frequency between band-divided components. In this paper, we show a scheme for compensating for the fluctuation by digital signal processing. |
