A 76.5GHz Planar antenna using waffle-iron ridge waveguides

(in English) A 76.5GHz Planar antenna using waffle-iron ridge waveguides has been developed. The developed antenna has a wide aperture in the H-plane direction by removing the side metal walls and a box horn structure in the E-plane direction both of which contribute to improve the antenna efficiency. The developed antenna has also exciting illuminations in both of the E- and H-planes which can reduce side lobe levels. The area of antenna is 600mm2, the gain including the antenna feed line is 25.0dBi, the efficiency including the antenna feed line is 64.5% and the side lobe level is -20dB have been obtained.
