Fundamental Study on Characteristics of Radar Absorbent Material Having Flat Plate Structure

(in English) In this paper, characteristics of radar absorbent material (RAM) having flat plate structure were investigated. In recent years, a variety of RAM has been developed to suppress radio interference. This study is investigated by using dielectric RAM of natural material and metasurface of artificial material in order to satisfy the three requirements, that is, broadband characteristics, oblique incidence characteristics and thin type. As a result, we confirmed that it was difficult to satisfy all of the three requirements. However, it was clarified that the proposed two flat layer RAM was suitable when broadband characteristics and oblique incidence characteristics were required and the proposed metasurface met oblique incidence characteristics and thin type.
