As large-scale systems are so expensive, they are often kept in operation for long periods even though they may not perfectly suit current work demands. Attempting to adapt them to current work requirements with the minimum in necessary system revisions degrades operation efficiency. The common solution forces the developer to analyze the system as is. However, unless the developer has abundant business knowledge, it is likely that the existence of important tasks and rules will be overlooked, which will raise the cost and delay of development revision. We avoid reliance on developer skill in analyzing the system’s documents and source code, the conventional approach, we analyze just the system data held in a database. The result is that some "Hidden Critical Rules" can now be discovered in a half-automated manner. |
