Effect of Configuration of MIMO Base Station Antenna on Cannel Capacity in Street Cell Environment

(in English) In next generation mobile communication system, street cells are formed by using an antenna of a base station located at a low height of a street. MIMO system is one of the candidate technique for large capacity wireless transmission in street cell. This paper clarifies the effects of configuration of MIMO base station antenna on channel capacity for line-of-sight street cell environment. It is shown that the optimum beam width in the horizontal plane is indicated with respect to road width and distance from base station . Moreover, it is also shown that as the service area is wider, channel capacity is decreased .
