Experimental verification of synchronization phenomenon observed in passive walking robots on a hung base

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this study, we experimentally verify synchronization phenomenon observed in passive walking robots on a hung base to consider autonomous synchronization of pace of walking. It is well known to consider passive walking robots as oscillators so that the phenomenon we observed corresponds to mutual synchronization exhibited in coupled oscillator model. In this report, we conduct an experiment in two passive walking robots and observe its behaviour. As a result, synchronization phenomenon that each phase of oscillation of robot locks was experimentally observed.
