An Orthosis Design with CFRP Bones to Fit the Body Morphology and Kinematics Toward the Non-Electric Support Device for Backbone Problems

(in English) We have investigated human-body assistive devices based on the reactive force of the carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP). Recently, robotic mechanical systems with electronic actuators are popular in the welfare-engineering field; however its cost and maintenance problems are still difficulties in popularization of such assist tools. In considering of care for persons who has concern with backbone damage, a light and maintenance-free tools is expected as a part of prosthetic devices. In the present paper, we report a developmental equipment to validate such a device in a quantitative manner, which is able to measure the force to reduce the body burden during the bending-down motion. In our experiments, we measured how much force reduces due to the device by using the experimental body mock-up specifically designed for the purpose of the investigation of the bending-down burden reduction.
