Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Vibration cutting is a precise cutting method with a vibration tool. The vibration cutting has an upper limit of the cutting speed called the critical cutting speed. At near the critical cutting speed, chatter vibration often arises. This paper we study the chatter vibration arising on the vibration cutting system experimentally. First, we explain our experimental device and conditions. Next, we measure workpiece displacement from the recommended cutting speed to critical cutting speed, and investigate behavior of the vibration cutting system. Finally, we consider the possibility of stable vibration cutting condition at high speed from the analyzed data.
