Fundamental Study on DOA Estimation with Khatri-Rao Transform Virtual-Array by Using Sparse Signal Reconstruction

(in English) In DOA estimation applications using array antenna, it is desirable that the system can estimate incoming waves with less sensors. Khatri-Rao product increases the number of elements virtually and enables to estimate more incoming waves in DOA estimation. KR product, however, assumes uncorrelated waves incidence. The estimation accuracy deteriorates in the case of correlated wave incidence. Recently, the sparse signal reconstruction has been attracting attention because it can realize DOA estimation regardless of the signal correlation. In this paper, we compare FISTA of L1 reconstruction method with MUSIC for KR transformed virtual array of 1 snapshot coherent data. In addition, we propose a estimation method by FISTA considered correlations and improve estimation errors.
