Compensation of Nonlinear Distortions for Parametric Array Loudspeakers -- In the case of changing the amplitude of input signal --

(in English) Reproduction sound of the parametric array loudspeaker (PAL) contains many nonlinear distortions.
Nonlinear distortions can be compensated by using the linearization system based on Volterra lters. In this paper,
we compare the compensation amount of nonlinear distortions in cases where the amplitude of the input signal to
the PAL is changed. As a result, the compensation amount is decreased for large input signal compared with small input signal because the small input signal yields inaccurate Volterra kernels. We therefore propose an identification method where the 2nd order Volterra kernel is identified by separating the 2nd and 4th order nonlinear components in order to increase the estimation accuracy. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed identification method can improve the identification accuracy and yield high compensation ability to the linearization system compared with the conventional identification method.
