[Invited Lecture] Dual-Polarized Base Station Antenna Design for a Robust Multi-User MIMO System
Ichiro Oshima (DKK), Yoshio Karasawa (UEC) AP2014-195
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The optimal configuration for a four- element linear array was previously proposed as an antenna array configuration for a multi-user MIMO with robustness against channel variation. In this report, we consider applying the optimal configuration method to a dual polarized antenna array. We derive a correlation coefficient between the antenna elements of the dual polarized antenna, taking into account cross polarization discrimination (XPD), and we calculate averaged channel capacities for element spacing of the antenna. Further, we investigate the relation between the channel capacity and the XPD, and the optimal element spacing of the antenna.
