This paper introduces our trials to reduce mental stress of passengers on an autonomous vehicle . We developed a display system that sees-through the dashboard of a vehicle using projection-based AR (Augmented Reality) to solve some visual factors of anxious feeling. This system overlays the wheel trajectories on seeing-through dashboard. The displayed visual information can make the passenger understand the road condition (e.g., surface, width) and the prospected vehicle route in the blind region. As the result, even on a narrow road, the stress of the passenger might be reduced. We also introduce a method to investigate changes of the mental stress by physiological index. |
