Analog-digital Hybrid Eigenmode Transmission for Massive Short-range MIMO

(in English) In this report, an analog-digital hybrid eigenmode transmission technique for massive short-range MIMO is proposed, and this exploits both analog and digital beamforming. In the proposed method, first, a channel matrix is block-diagonalized by analog beamforming with hybrid couplers. Next, eigenmode transmission is virtually realized by digital beamforming toward each sub channel matrix taking less calculation. Numerical results show that channel matrix can be block-diagonalized by using hybrid couplers, and the proposed method achieves the channel capacity almost equivalent to that of conventional eigenmode transmission performed by only digital beamforming even when the frequency characteristics of hybrid couplers are taken into consideration.
