Operating Mechanism of Quad-Band Printed Antenna for M2M Applications

(in English) This paper investigates the operating mechanism of our proposed small multiband printed antenna for wireless telecommunications modules that actualizes Machine-to-Machine applications. The proposed antenna achieves operation quad-band: 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, and 2 GHz. We clarify that the operating mechanism around the 2 GHz band is equivalent to that of one wavelength folded offset fed dipole antenna comprising a
monopole element and second strips, and that the operating frequency around the 2 GHz band can be determined by the path length to the tip of the monopole element via a feeding point from the tip of the second strip.
