Transmission through a rectangular hole in a thick conducting screen -- Relation between the transmission coefficient and waveguide modes --

(in English) The property of electromagnetic transmission through an aperture is quantitatively studied by using the KP solution of the plane wave diffraction through a rectangular hole in a thick conducting screen.
Transmission coefficients are calculated as a measure of the power transmission for various hole's sizes and screen's thicknesses, and for several incident angles. The numerical results of the transmission coefficient and waveguide modes excited in the aperture are presented as functions of the thickness to clarify the relation between the waveguide modes and transmission property.
