[Tutorial Lecture] Orthogonal Mode Utilized Functional Microstrip Antenna

(in English) In this paper, microstrip antennas excited in the orthogonal modes with attractive functions are proposed and its
characteristics are investigated. Expansion of antenna performances utilizing the orthogonal modes is discussed. In order to
realize the functions, semiconductor devices such as switching diode are loaded and they control the orthogonal excitation
modes flexibly. Polarization switchable array antennas and beam steering antenna are explained.
