Urban Dynamic Channel Modeling For MIMO System Evaluation Using Particle Filtering

(in English) Ray-based channel models parameterized from measured data such as 3GPP Spatial Channel Model has been widely used as the standard model for evaluating the performance of MIMO transmission technologies used in the next generation cellular systems such as LTE and IMT-Advanced. Recently, for evaluating the temporal evolution of MIMO transmission performance, the demand has been rising for enhancing the channel models that include the dynamic channel behavior such as cluster birth/death, and cluster propagation parameter drift. In this paper, we focus on the local scatters' location around Rx for modeling the dynamic behavior of cluster propagation parameter. In our proposal, we estimate the local scatters' location from the measured data by using particle filtering. Dynamic Channel is modelled by producing the clusters according to the distribution of scatters' locations. We carried out the 3.35GHz channel measurement in the urban environment, and created the dynamic channel model. Experiments showed that in our dynamic channel model both the spread and the auto-correlation of ToA, AoA and AoD agreed with the measured data well.
