Deterioration Mechanism of MIMO Channel Capacity and the Influence on Actual Environment

(in English) A deterioration mechanism of a MIMO channel capacity in multi-path propagation (LOS and NLOS) was studied by a theory and a computer simulation. Based on a propagation model, we defined an excessive path length of a wave in an antenna element which affected the channel capacity. Some simulations are shown the influence of the excessive path length quantitatively. As a result, it was cleared that the capacity deteriorated extremely when a magnitude of the excessive path length was distributed within 1/4 wavelengths. Moreover, the simulations cleared that the excessive path length affected a spatial correlation and the average channel capacity. And, to clarify the quantitative influence in an actual environment, we simulated on an angle profile suggested in COST273, 3GPP and others.
