| (in English) | Heat assisted and microwave assisted magnetic recording are compared using micromagnetic models. It is found that although microwave assisted recording yields some advantages in terms of improving the writability of recording media, thereby permitting higher areal densities to be supported, the use of heat assisted magnetic recording has better long-term potential due to the decoupling of room temperature anisotropy from the switching field during recording. | |
