On the Minimal Model for Purity-measuring and the Dimension of Quantum Systems

(in English) We consider the simplest purity-measurement scheme composed of a two-body interaction and a local PVM mesurement. We show that there appears the significant distinction between odd and even dimensional cases for the system’s Hilbert spaces; with this scheme, the purity can be measured for odd-dimensional cases. On the other hand, the purity cannot be measured for even-dimensional cases (even with a local POVM).
