Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We had introduced the new kana-kanji conversion method for the visually impaired using the relationship by the meaning of the word. In the method, users can select the proper kanji word listening to its related words. For the development of the system, there is a problem how we select these related words and determine their order. For this purpose, we introduce the method using the word familiarity database by NTT. As a result of subjective experiments where the subjects rated the distance between the related words and its target word, it was suggested that the higher the word familiarity rating, the closer the subjects rated, and vice versa.
