The low power circuit design techniques for 2.88Gbps UWB transceiver

(in English) A new transmission scheme, which has 2.88Gbps and -70dBm/MHz Ultra Wide Band(UWB) communication for near-touch downloading(called near mode) was proposed. The 2.88Gbps and -70dBm/MHz UWB transceiver has compatibility for MB-OFDM(Multi Band-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) UWB(called normal mode) in 6-10GHz. To achieve low power dissipation in normal mode, the transceiver has 3 low power consumption circuits: a digital hopping for only one LO, a passive LPF for no power consumption, and a HF-VGA(High pass Feedback-VGA) for wide bandwidth. With their techniques, TRX power dissipation of 126/141mW was achieved in normal mode. In near mode, bypass circuit for driver amplifiers is fabricated with correction circuits for flat spectrum over 3 bands. TX dissipation of 102mW was achieved in near mode.
