Direction of Arrival Estimation for Number of Arrival Waves Exceeding Degree of Freedom

(in English) The estimating of direction of arrival using array antennas is required to improve the propagation environment of mobile communication systems. On the other hand, the direction of arrival method cannot presume the environment for the number of wave exceeding the degree of freedom of the array antenna by conventional methods. This report proposes the technique to find a single incoming wave with the maximum field strength under the number of wave exceeding degree of freedom by calculating the correlation matrix from the first eigenvector in DOA estimation. The performance of the proposed technique is evaluated by simulation and experiment.
