Miniaturization of a Sleeve Antenna with Variable Capacitors

(in English) In a sleeve antenna, CRB(Current Rejection Band: the band within which the leakage current on the feeder is suppressed) becomes wider with an increase in the antenna width. Therefore, when the wideband characteristic is required, the sleeve antenna becomes large. For the miniaturization of the sleeve antenna, we have investigated the sleeve antenna with variable capacitors, in which the sleeve conductor is divided into two parts and a variable capacitor connects them. Here, we proposed a more miniaturized sleeve antenna. In this antenna, a variable capacitor connects the sleeve conductor and the ground conductor of the feeder. The theory of this antenna is shown. Then, the relationship between the length of the sleeve and the width of CRB is researched. Moreover, we confirm that CRB can be varied by changing the reverse bias voltage of a variable capacitance diode, and the wide impedance bandwidth is achieved. The radiation patterns are also measured.
