[Statement] We are, nowadays, glad to see advanced research activities and a wide variety of applications in big data analysis, artificial intelligence,
IoT, etc. tightly related to Information and System Society (ISS). On
the other hand, academic societies in Japan are facing
difficulties. Members are more and more requested international
publications and activities, and are evaluated based on them. We have
responsibility for providing the functions necessary for members, and
responsibility for well maintaining academic reliability and authority
established through our long history. Concerning this problem, we have
two urgent issues : making Japanese and English transactions to fit
the demands of members, and making the organization and management of
technical groups more flexible. These issues had been also keenly
recognized while I worked as the chair of Human Communication Group
(HCG) of IEICE. I would like to tackle these issues in cooperation
with HCG.
