Since human activities are based on the communication among humans, the change of the way of communication by ICT(Information and Communication Technology) causes the change of our society, in which all people have to use ICT. When the mobile devices are widely used, all the activities of a human will be collected and utilized for the society, which will come soon. One of the problems of our society is to change the social systems and laws to cope with all the new technologies in the field of ICT. ISS(Information and System Society) will have to propose what has to be changed and how it has to be changed to our society, which will be the duty of the researchers of ICT. From this viewpoint, I will contribute to the future of ISS.

He received the Ph.D in information science from Kyoto University. His research fields are information processing, measurement and communication based on the images. He is a Professor at Kyoto University. He was contributed the IEICE as the Chief Editor of ISS transactions, the director of the Human Communication Group and the chair of Pattern Recognition and Media Understanding special interest Group.
