【Statement】
Since our daily life is fully supported by a variety of the ICT, R&D activity should be deployed with a view to human, society and global environment even more deeply. The IEICE takes the central role in R&D activity about Electronic Engineering and Information Communication, and is anticipated to respond quickly to the rapid change of the ICT field. Furthermore, the IEICE is expected to lead R&D activities and launch new challenges from the widely varying viewpoints. I would be very honored if I could help the IEICE as a board member. I will promise to make a remarkable effort to meet the needs of IEICE with all the members’ challenge spirit.

【Profile】
He received a Master Degree from Kobe University in 1984 and a Doctor of Engineering from Tokyo University in 1996 respectively. He joined Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation in 1984 and was engaged in the study of coding system of a still image and a motion picture. He was also in charge of standardization activity of JPEG and MPEG-1 etc. He has been Vice President and General Manager of NTT Service Evolution Laboratories since 2011.
He is a Senior Member of IEICE and also served as a Treasury Secretary of Human Communication Group(HCG), a chair of technical committee on Office Information System (OIS), and Tokyo Section Chair in 2013.
