In the year 2007/2008, the IEICE Singapore Section had organized one IEICE Distinguished Lecture given by Professor Ke WU, IEEE Fellow, University of Montreal, Canada. The lecture with the title of "Six-port direct conversion architecture for carrier-based and impulse UWB transceiver applications" was held in December 10, 2007, in School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
During the lecture, I firstly introduced the IEICE organization to all of the audiences and welcome them especially young scholars and PhD students to join the IEICE as a regular or student member. Next, Prof. Wu spent about one hour and fifteen minutes to present his pioneered works in the development and applications of six-port techniques at microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies. In final, a discussion session with about thirty minutes was held since many participants expressed their interests in the scope of this talk. The number of participants is 36 inclusive of 8 PhD students.
