| 抄録（和） | HMD(Head Mounted Display)は装着者に対して,コンピュ-タが作り出した仮想空間にあたかも実際にいるような臨場感を与えることができる.しかしながら,HMD装着者は両眼をディスプレイで覆われるため表情の把握が妨げられるという問題が起こる.本報告では,HMDディスプレイの外側,すなわち,HMD装着者の対面相手側の面にHMD装着者の眼を表示するEye-through HMDを提案する.Eye-through HMDは,HMDを付けていても相手に眼の動きを見せることが可能となるので対話が妨げられない,という特長をもっている.また,応用の一つとしてのPuppet Eyesついて述べる. |
| 抄録（英） | A head-mounted display (HMD) can produce a "high presence" effect giving the wearer the feeling of actually being in the virtual space constructed by a computer. However, it becomes difficult to determine facial expressions since the HMD covers the eyes of the wearer. This report addresses this problem and proposes an Eye-through HMD that displays the eyes of the HMD wearer on the outer side of the HMD, i. e., on the side facing other people. The Eye-through HMD therefore prevents obstacles to interaction because eye movement of the HMD wearer can be observed by other people. This report describes the Eye-through HMD and presents a key application of this device called Puppet Eyes. |
