| 抄録（和） | 通信・放送機構は、個々のCATV網を広域接続して大規模な情報通信インフラを構築し、これを効率良く活用するためのCATV電話及びニア・ビデオ・オン・デマンド(NVOD)を中心とした各種の伝送技術の実験を行うための施設を整備した。本稿はその実験施設の概要(主にCATV電話施設を中心)の報告である。 |
| 抄録（英） | Because cable television (CATV) has the wide and two way characteristics, it has been noted as a tele-communications infrastructure capable of providing services including telecommunications. This project will attempt to connect the individual CATV networks scattered over a wide area and construct the network as a large scale telecommunications network and establish digital transmission techniques through many kind of experiments in CATV telephones and Near Video On Demand (NVOD) . This paper presents the outline of the experimental facilities for the Wide Area CATV System. |
