| 抄録（和） | マルチメディア通信用の通信網としてATM網が使われるとき,そのATM網のオペレ-ションには変化があるだろうか?本稿はこの問題を考察し,マルチメディア通信をサポ-トするには,ATM網オペレ-ションシステムにおいて性能管理を強化する必要のあることを明かにする.さらに性能管理上重要な性能モニタリングと性能劣化時の保守アクションにおける技術的課題を分析する.この結果,(1)性能モニタリング能力の評価,(2)性能パラメタ値計算手続きの確立,(3)性能モニタリング用管理情報定義,(4)ビット誤り, 輻輳/トラヒック制御機構の監視手法の確立,(5)及び警報相関機構の解明が重要な課題であることを示す. |
| 抄録（英） | What is technically required for the operation systems of the ATM networks that support multimedia communications? This paper deals with this question and shows that the operation systems must have enhanced performance management mechanisms.In particular,performance monitoring and maintenance actions against performance degradation are studied in detail to clarify the technical problems to be solved.As a result,it is shown that the technical problems include:(1)evaluation of performance monitoring capability,(2)computing procedures for performance parameters,(3)management information definitions for performance monitoring,(4)surveillance mechanisms for bit effors, congestion/traffic control,and(5)alarm correlation mechanisms. |
