| 抄録（和） | 本発表では、ISO, IECならびにIRU-Tで行なわれている国際標準化活動に関し、次世代映像符号化標準MPEG-2 H.262と、そのATMネットワ-クを介したオ-ディオビジュアル通信システムへの応用について現在までの作業状況と主要な結果、ならびに今後の課題を概観する。前者では符号化アルゴリズムの特徴と機能性に、後者ではATMの特性が映像符号化に及ぼす影響とネットワ-ク・アダプテ-ション機能に焦点をあてる。 |
| 抄録（英） | There has been much interest in digital video applications,supported by rapid progress of video coding technology and international standardizabon.ATM network is another key element to realize high quality audiovsiual communication systems,which is under active standardization as well.This paper presents the current status and major outcome of the standardization work in ISO, IEC and ITU-T addressing these two fields.Remaining issues for standardizing ATM video terminals are also discussed. |
