| 抄録（和） | コンピュ-タ・ネットワ-クにはさまざまな形のものがあるが、今後、重要になるのは、パソコンやワ-クステ-ションを主につなぐLANおよびそれらを相互につなぐインタ-ネットである。これらは電子メ-ルなどによる個人間の情報交換やさまざまな情報の共有、さらに分散処理に使われる。LANの方式は、現在は10Mbpsのイ-サネットと100MbpsのFDDIが主であるが、100Mbpsのイ-サネットや150, 600Mbpsおよび2.4GbpSのATM-LANも実用化目前となっている。回線が高速化すれば、マルチメディアの伝送やグル-プウェアによるCSCWがやり易くなる。一方インタ-ネットは、アカデミック関係のみならず、企業での利用に盛んになると予想される。 |
| 抄録（英） | Of many forms of computer networks,increasing attention is being paid to LANs(linking Pcs and Workstations)and internetworks connecting those LANS.These networks are primarily used to exchange e-mails between individuals,to share all kinds of information and for distributed processing.The main schemes of today′s LANs are 10-Mbps Ehernet and 100-Mbps FDDI.But emerging now are 100-Mbps Ethernets and ATM-LANs which promise 150, 600Mbps and 2.4Gbps.The increased speed of these new LANs will make multi-media transmission and groupware-based CSCW easier.The use of internets will also spread from academic worlds to enterprises in the near future. |
