| 抄録（和） | 本稿では記憶を有するベクトル量子化法として、短期記憶ベクトル量子化法(VQ-STM)を提案した。VQ-STMは2種類のコ-ドブックを持っている。2種類のコ-ドブックとは符号語が常に不変な「固定構造コ-ドブック」と、符号語が固定構造コ-ドブックのサブセットより成り、過去の量子化出力に従って随時更新される「可変構造コ-ドブック」とである。そして、各入力毎にこの2種類のうち適当なほうが選択される。可変構造コ-ドブックの更新は過去の量子化出力を記憶している有限長のバッファメモリを用いて行なわれる。白黒画像を用いてVQ-STMの符号化シミュレ-ションを行なった結果、有為な性能改善が得られた。 |
| 抄録（英） | This propose novel and neat scheme of vector quantization with memory,named Vector Quantization with Short Time memory(VQ-STM).The VQ-STM coding employs two types of codebooks, viz.“Fixed-structuer Codebook″whose codeword are kept unchanged and“Variabl-Structure Codebook″which is defined as subset of the fixed-structure codebook and whose structure is momentarily renovated depending on the past behavior of the encoder,and chooses a proper codebook between two codebool for every input vector.The renovation of the variable-structure codebook is easily performed oly by the management of a buffer memory of finite length which stores past encoder outputs.The VQ-STM is simulated on monochrom images,and shows a considerable performance improvement. |
