| 抄録（和） | ICT機器数の増加や機器単体の電力使用量の増加などによって電力使用量が増加している．ICT機器を冷却するために必要な空調による電力消費量も増加するため，データセンタなどにおける電力消費量の拡大が懸念されている. さらに，ICT機器数の増加を踏まえ，リユースやリサイクルの一層の推進も課題となっている【Green of ICT】． 一方，ICTを活用したTV会議，電子ショッピング，ITS（高度道路交通システム），SCM（サプライチェーンマネジメント）など，ICTサービスの利活用により，生産活動の効率化，ヒトやモノの移動の減少，情報を電子化することによるモノの生産抑制などにつながり，社会全体のCO2排出量を削減する効果が期待できる【Green by ICT】． 本稿では，ICTを利活用することにより，地球温暖化問題の解決に貢献するグリーンICTの研究開発動向について紹介する． |
| 抄録（英） | ICTs produce CO2 emissions due to consumption of electrical power to operate equipment/systems. Therefore the efforts to reduce electrical power consumption in ICT usage and to save resources in ICT equipment are very important, that is shown by “Green of ICT”. On the other hand, ICT usage can contribute to a reduction in CO2 emissions due to a marked improvement in the efficiency of production, consumption, and business, also that of traffic alternatives, and a reduction in traffic volume, that is shown by “Green by ICT”. \r\nThis paper introduces the R&D activities on both of “Green of ICT” and “Green by ICT” contributing to the solution of the global warming issue with changing our lifestyle by using ICT. |
