We propose a design of transaural reproduction systems for stereo loud\r\nspeakers to localize sound from binaural sources, using psychoacoustic\r\nproperty of the human auditory systems. The system models human head\r\nas a rigid ball and Interaural Time Difference (ITD) and Interaural\r\nLevel Difference (ILD) are used to approximate the Head Related\r\nTransfer Function(HRTF). A pinna model is also added. Transaural filters\r\nare designed by combining all these techniques with an approximation\r\nto make the system realizable. Crosstalk cancellation of the proposed\r\nsystem is actually measured, and subjective experiments show that our\r\ntransaural filters can achieve sound localization comparable to a\r\nbinaural listening with headphones. |
