| 抄録（和） | 本報告では,複雑な背景を持つ情景画像から自動的に文字を抽出する手法について述べる.我々の提案する方法は,フィードフォワードニューラルネットワークをベースとしている.ニューラルネットワークは,画像中の小領域(ブロック)内の特徴量から.その領域が文字であるか非文字であるかを判別する.その際,文字の特徴量としてウェーヴレット変換,独立成分分析,特徴空間からの距離を組み合わせて用いることで,高精度の識別を行うことができる.また,色による画像の領域分割をベースとした看板領域抽出手法も提案する.これらの文字抽出法と看板抽出法を統合することにより,効率よく情景画像中に存在する文字を抽出することが可能となる.本稿では最後に,実際の情景画像を用いた実験結果から提案法の有効性を示す. |
| 抄録（英） | In this paper a method of text detection in a complex scene image is presented. Our proposed detector is based on a feed forward neural network. The neural network, which is trained by a large number of positive and negative samples, classifies small regions (blocks) of an input image as text or non-text. By using wavelet, Independent Component Analysis (ICA), and Distance From Feature Space (DFFS) for the features of characters, the performance of the detector is improved considerably. We also propose a signboard detection method based on color segmentation. Moreover, the integration of these two detectors is discussed. Experimental results show the effectiveness of our proposed method. |
