| 抄録（和） | 高速ネットワークの出現により、ネットワーク監視において新たな問題が指摘されつつある。高速ネットワーク上では、トラフィック自身の監視に比べ、トラフィックのバースト、ディレイ、ジッタの監視することがより重要視されている。我々は、従来のアクティブ・モニタリング、パッシブ・モニタリングによる監視を行う場合の様々な影響について研究している。本稿では、アクティブ・モニタリング、パッシブ・モニタリングのそれぞれの利点と欠点を考察する。また、それぞれの監視方法における影響を確認するために、監視の品質と精度の関係と、監視方法によるネットワークやスイッチ、ルータの負荷の観点から、監視による影響ついて述べる。 |
| 抄録（英） | The emergence of High Speed Networks has raised new issues in network monitoring. The emphasis is more on monitoring burstiness, latency and jitter than in measuring the traffic itself. In this context we investigate the effectiveness of the traditional active and passive measurement techniques. Each has its own adantages and disadvantages. To ascertain the efectiveness of each technique we have studied the relationship between the quality and accuracy of the measurement and the corresponding cost in terms of load on the network and the switches/routers. The results are presented. |
