| 抄録（和） | WWWアクセスなどインターネットのユーザが感じるレスポンス時間、例えばホームページの表示時間は、ネットワークとサーバーの遅延の総和である。このレスポンスの向上のためにはネットワークのトラヒック制御とコンテンツ配置制御を独立に行うのではなく、それらを同時に行い、コンテンツも含めた網の最適運用(リソースエンジニアリング)を行うことが必要である。本稿ではネットワーク内にコンテンツキャッシュを導入し、そのプリフェッチ動作などを網の状況に応じてプロアクティブに実行するネットワークアーキテクチャーについて提案する。またこの機能を実現するためのスイッチアーキテクチャーを提案する。本提案により、ミラーリングなどの特定のサーバーのみを高速化する手法が持つ限界を超えることができ、キャッシュプリフェッチに起因する無駄トラヒックを抑えて良好なレスポンスをクライアントに提供することが可能となる。 |
| 抄録（英） | Response time of WWW access is a total of network delay and server delay. In order to reduce the response time, this paper proposed a network architecture in which the control of the network and the caching are cooperated. Conventional approaches of independent control operations of these two result in performance improvement limit. The proposed network architecture is based on network caching and is not a passive caching but proactive caching. It enables cache servers to intelligently pre-fetch contents with keeping network from congestion. This also leads to a resource engineering, in which both network control and contents distribution control are well tuned to get the best caching performance. Layer 8 switch is also proposed as a key component of the caching network. |
