| 抄録（和） | 通信放送技術衛星(COMETS)を用いた高度移動体衛星通信実験は,Ka・ミリ波帯を用いた次世代の通信システム実現のための要素技術の開発を目的としており,そのためにKa・ミリ波帯のスルーリピータ中継器や再生中継器等の衛星搭載機器及び地球局の開発が行われてきた.COMETSは,1998年2月に打ち上げられたが,第2段エンジンの不具合により静止軌道に投入することには失敗したが,その後の数回にわたる軌道修正により1日最長90分程度の実験が行えることになった.ここでは,COMETSを用いて実施したKa・ミリ波帯における移動体衛星通信実験について報告する. |
| 抄録（英） | The purpose of the advanced mobile satellite communications experiments using the communications and broadcasting engineering test satellite (COMETS) is to develop basic technology and to assess the feasibility of future mobile and personal satellite communications in Ka and millimeter-wave bands. Although COMETS failed to attain a geostationary orbit, mobile satellite communication experiments in Ka and millimeter-wave bands were carried out. This paper describes the results of these experiments. |
