| 抄録（和） | 無線LAN端末のIPアドレス等のネットワークパラメータを変更することなく，ルータを越えた広範囲な移動を実現するミドルウェアALAN（Anywhere LAN access）について述べる．ALANの利用により，ユーザは移動先のリモートLANからいつもと同じネットワーク環境でファイルサーバやメールサーバ等にアクセスして作業でき，また端末の移動を意識する必要がない．ALANはロジカルオフィスサービス技術をコア技術として用いるため，Mobile IPと比較して，端末はIP以外のNetBEUI，IPX等各種レイヤ3プロトコルを利用可能，管理サーバによる集中管理が可能等の特徴を持つ．一方，従来の無線LANをロジカルオフィスサービスと単に組み合わせた場合と比較して，リモートLANへの自動的なハンドオフが可能，リモートLANにおける既設基地局を移動端末が利用可能等の特徴を有する． |
| 抄録（英） | In this paper, we introduce ALAN (Anywhere LAN access) : a novel middleware which offers inter-subnet mobility for wireless terminals without reconfiguration of their network parameters such as IP address. Terminals can continue to communicate servers, such as a file server and a mail server, attached to their Home LAN, even if they move to Remote LANs. ALAN has the following features compared with Mobile IP.(1)Terminals can use any layer 3 protocols. (2)Concentrated control by a management server is available. Whereas, ALAN has the following features compared with the combination of Logical Office Service and existing wireless LAN.(1)Terminals can handoff to access points attached to Remote LANs. (2)Existing access points attached to Remote LANs can accommodate foreign terminals. |
