| 抄録（和） | 本稿では、高速通信について個人ユース、企業ユース、研究機関ユースの現状を把握するとともに、情報の特徴をリアルタイム性、対称性に着目し整理する。また、今後の通信ネットワークの高速化を左右するインターネットについて、そのトラヒック特性に着目し、マルチキャスト性に優れた衛星通信の活用についても言及する。最後に、ネットワークの高速化に向けた需要動向、技術動向を展望する。 |
| 抄録（英） | Recent spread of high performance personal computers and advances in the telecommunications technology have made Internet a tremendously growing new information “machinery”. This paper first surveys present situation in high speed communications from the perspectives of personal, business and research usage. Also, a brief analysis of information characterized according to their real-time properties and bi-directionality is presented. Next, use of satellite communications systems for Internet services is proposed as the volume of traffic flow in Internet is mostly asymmetric. Finally, possible user demands and technical trend scenarios for future high-speed communications are discussed. |
