Technical Committee on Information Security

The social structure is changing greatly with the rapid spread of the
Internet in recent years. As for example, movement to computerize
commercial transactional works, currently performed interactively, is
being accelerated. Although convenience increases by computerizing, the
mechanism of guaranteeing dealings having been correctly conducted with
right partners is needed on the other hand. Since the service will be
provided in the open environment represented by the Internet, the
mechanism of preventing various injustices by many and unspecified
assailants is also needed. The information security is indispensable in
order to realize these mechanisms.

In technical meetings, the broad area of research from fundamentals to
applications, such as coding theory, its applications, and a secure
system configuration is dealt with, and the exchange of ideas by the
researchers are performed actively. Through these activities, the
technical committee aims at contributing to realization of safe and
reliable information society.

The main areas of research to deal with are as follows:
-
Coding theory
-
The computation techniques, and mathematical applications.
-
Coding system
